At approximately 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 all eight Madison County fire departments were notified of a structure fire on Burch Street in downtown Madison.  Madison Fire Rescue was first on scene and reported a two story home was fully involved.  Flames from the fire could be seen by fire units responding from out of town and were easily reaching sixty feet in to the air.  Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the one dwelling thus saving adjacent homes.  The cause of the blaze is not known and Incident Command has requested the State Fire Marshall respond to do the investigation.
