Around 10:00 PM on Sunday, January 17, 2016 Madison 911 Center received a report of an armed robbery at the Winn-Dixie store on Hwy 90 west in Madison.  A Madison County Sheriff's Deputy spotted the suspects and gave chase through the city and then north on Hwy 53.  The deputy came under fire and reported "shots fired" to dispatch.  After returning fire the pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle ran off the road and hit a powerline pole on the west side of Hwy 53 a little north of Little Cat Road.  Two suspects from the vehicle were transported to the Madison County Jail.  No law enforcement officers were injured.  The Madison Police Department is doing the report.
