On Monday 02/08/2016 at 442am, Madison County Communications Center received a call from a concerned citizen in reference to observing a Madison County School Board vehicle parked at a convenience store on Hwy 90 in Suwannee County. The information was relayed to Cpl. Joey Smith of the Madison Police Department. Cpl. Joey Smith proceeded to the Madison County School Board Office located on North Duval Ave. to check for possible burglary. On arrival, Cpl. Smith observed that the lock on one of the gates had been cut and also observed that one of the bay doors on the School bus barn had been pushed up. At this time, Cpl. Smith notified Detective/Sergeant Chris Cooks for assistance with the investigation. On arrival of Detective/Sergeant Chris Cooks and the bus barn supervisor it was determined that 5 vehicles had been stolen. Two of the stolen had been returned prior to the officer’s arrival on the scene with three vehicles still missing. Detective/Sergeant David Spicer was notified to assist Cooks with the investigation and gather information from School Board officials. During the course of the investigation Detectives Cooks and Spicer developed suspect information and recovered all three of the vehicles that were missing from the Madison County School Board Office. One vehicle was located and recovered in Suwanee County. The second vehicle was located and recovered in Jefferson County and the third vehicle was located and recovered in Madison County.
On Tuesday February 9 2016, three suspects were interviewed at Madison County High School in reference to the burglary and theft of vehicles. As a result of the interviews, all three suspects confessed to the crime and were placed under arrest.

Charged: Joshua Williams 15 yoa - 5 counts Grand Theft, 1 count burglary, and 1 county criminal mischief
