Random K-9 Search Yields Arrest at High School

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday the 15th day of May 2014 the Madison County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was requested to conduct a drug sweep at the Madison County High School. Deputies along with their canine partners teamed up with school resource officers and school administrators to conduct random searches of buildings, classrooms, lockers and vehicles. The canine search resulted in two students and one construction worker being arrested on drug charges. The construction worker was authorized to be on campus at the time of his arrest as he was part of the remodeling crew working on the high school.
