January 8, 2015

COLD AND BREEZY CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT HAVE ALREADY PULLED WIND CHILL READINGS INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS ACROSS SOUTHEAST ALABAMA THIS MORNING. THESE SINGLE DIGIT READINGS WILL LIKELY SPREAD THROUGH PARTS OF EXTREME SOUTHWEST GEORGIA AND THE WESTERN PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA NORTH OF I-10. ELSEWHERE WIND CHILLS WILL LIKELY FALL INTO THE LOW TEENS. IT WILL BE UNTIL EARLY THIS AFTERNOON THAT WIND CHILL READINGS CLIMB ABOVE 20 DEGREES.

322 AM EST THU JAN 8 2015 /222 AM CST THU JAN 8 2015/ ...WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST /NOON CST/ THIS AFTERNOON... * WIND CHILLS: MINIMUM VALUES AROUND 10 TO 15 DEGREES. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
