Obituary: Harold “Pete” Dailey

November 18, 2014

Mr. Harold “Pete” Dailey, age 85, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014 at his home in Cherry Lake.

 

Mr. Pete was born October 2, 1929 to Samuel and Icie Dailey in Tishomingo, Mississippi. He married Catherine Elizabeth Oliver on November 13, 1955 and just celebrated 59 years of marriage. He moved from Boynton Beach, FL to Cherry Lake in 1980. He was a Sergeant in the U. S. Army. He was a truck driver for many years and was a member of Cherry Lake First Baptist Church where he was an usher for many years and the caretaker for all the church grounds. One of his favorite past times was hanging out at the Cherry Lake crossroads.

 

Survivors include his wife: Catherine Elizabeth Dailey of Cherry Lake, FL; 1 son: Charles “Chuck” Dailey (Phyllis) of Venus, TX; 2 daughters: Cathy Caslin (Mark) and Luann Barnes (Thomas) both of Cherry Lake, FL; 1 brother: Bruce Dailey (Marilou) of Palm Coast, FL and 1 sister: Louise Hill of TN; 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel and Icie Dailey; 1 brother: Erskine Dailey and 1 sister: Loxcile Armstrong.

 

Graveside funeral service will be held Friday, November 21, 2014 AT 2:00 p.m. at Cherry Lake First Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 6 – 8 PM at Beggs Funeral Home in Madison, Florida.

 

Donations may be made to Florida Cancer Specialist, 1600 Phillips Rd. Suite 300, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
