Drug Arrest

July 26, 2014

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday the 18th day of July 2014 at 10:50 pm investigators of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force stopped a two door Chevrolet on Old County Camp Road for a faulty equipment violation. The driver was identified as Jabar Miller and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Investigators asked Miller for his driver license however Miller claimed he left his license at his house. Investigators instructed Miller to exit his vehicle and stand in front of the patrol vehicle. While taking enforcement actions for the faulty vehicle equipment Miller continuously reached into his pockets. Investigators ordered Miller to keep his hands out of his pockets for safety reasons however Miller refused to do so.

Miller again placed his hands in his pockets and quickly removed them only this time Miller dropped two small plastic baggies containing cocaine and one small plastic baggie containing marijuana on the ground behind him. Miller was immediately placed under arrest without incident.

During a probable cause search of Miller’s vehicle investigators located marijuana residue scattered on the driver’s seat and an open container of alcohol.
