Obituary:Wesley William “Bill” Roberts Jr.

Wesley William “Bill” Roberts Jr., 84, passed away on February 16, 2020 in Madison, FL. Bill was born December 27, 1935 in Worthington Springs, Florida to Wesley William Roberts Sr. and Lois Farnell Green.

Bill honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Roberts was of the Baptist faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Madison. Bill worked with Madison County School System for 45 years and retired as the School System Superinterdent in 2004 where he had worn many different hats. He was a very active member of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs. He enjoyed books and was an avid reader in his spare time. He also liked going on long walks on the walking path.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley William Roberts, Sr and Lois Farnell Green.Bill is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Roberts of 45 years; children; one son, Kyle Roberts of Tallahassee, FL, one stepson Tony Blanton of Madison, FL, one stepdaughter Tammy McCoy (Chris) of Hahira, GA; grandchildren, Toni, Patrick, Brigette, Kaylin, and Rhett and three great-grand kids, Olivia, Rowen, and Lyla and two brothers, Dennis Roberts of Lake City, FL and Eddie Roberts of Palatka, FL. as well as a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Madison with Gabe Krell officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in San Pedro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Madison. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Madison.
