Bus vs Truck
On Tuesday August 30, 2016, less than 24 hours after a fatal school bus accident in Lowndes County, a Madison County School bus is rear ended on US Highway 90 West of Lee.
In the early morning hours a Madison County School bus was heading West on US Highway 90 and stopped to pick up kids about a half a mile East of Macedonia Church Rd. At that time a Chevrolet truck failed to stop in time and collided with the right side of the rear bumper of the bus. The truck sustained major frontend damage, however the bus had only minor damage to the bumper.
Madison EMS and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded. The Madison County School Board sent another bus to transport the kids to school. The Florida Highway Patrol worked the accident. No injuries were reported.
