Two Arrested for Possession on I-10
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Friday the 8th day of January 2016 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Deputy Goldman, with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement Unit conducted a traffic stop on a White Chevrolet Impala for a traffic violations while traveling Easterly on I-10. While taking enforcement action for the violation, Deputy Goldman noted specific behavioral and demeanor actions of both the driver and passenger that were indicative of potential criminal activity.
The driver was identified as Barrett Dumond which had a non-extraditable warrant from Oregon for violation of probation for possession of methamphetamine. The passenger was identified as Tracy Young with no outstanding warrants. Deputy Goldman was granted permission to search the vehicle and requested assistance from Lieutenant Haskell. Upon Lieutenant Haskell’s arrival, Goldman searched the vehicle and discovered a black container on the passenger side floor board that contained approximately ¾ of a pound of marijuana, Hashish oil, multiple marijuana smoking devices and a torch. Both subjects were taken into custody without further incident.
