PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN (Certificate Program) – Apply by November 1, 2015
NFCC’s Patient Care Technician (PCT) program can be completed in approximately five months and prepares students to begin work at the technical assistant level in a variety of settings including home health, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes or other long-term care facilities. PCTs work under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN). Successful completion of the PCT program prepares graduates to apply for testing and licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). CNA certification is required for employment in a Florida Skilled Nursing Care Facility. PCT graduates are prepared to work in a variety of healthcare agencies other than skilled nursing care facilities. Requirements for National Certification vary with each individual agency.
