New Teachers at JMPHS

Kaitlyn Ortega is the new English and Reading teacher at James Madison Preparatory High School this year.

Mrs. Ortega has been teaching for seven years. She started her teaching career in Taylor County where she taught at the Taylor County Elementary school. She later went to teaching high school in 2010.

She stated, “I am glad to come home to Madison this year. For years I have been teaching other people’s children and I am excited about being here in Madison impacting students in my own community.”

Amanda Phillips is also one of the new teachers this year.

Mrs. Phillips has been teaching all science subjects for seven years and is currently teaching chemistry and agriscience.

She holds a BS from Valdosta State University and an Associates Degree from North Florida Community College.

Mrs. Philips hopes to be able to help her students excel by offering them Advanced Placement program at JMPHS to prepare them to be, "accepted into some of the premier universities in the country."
