SPECIAL EVENING OF PRAYER & RACIAL UNITY
The Madison Ministerial Association is sponsoring an hour of prayer & unity at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 209 Martin Luther King Dr. on Tuesday at 7:00 PM. This is in response to the senseless deaths and maiming of our brothers and sisters in Christ who gathered for prayer at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston last Wednesday. The body of Christ, regardless of ethnicity, must come together in our Savior’s name and in prayer to counter the ugly sin of racism, mayhem, fear and division. Everyone is welcome. Let’s be “Madison strong” – that is, “strong in the Lord and the strength of His might.”
This terrible tragedy came in the midst of a “week of death” for our community. Even so, this is an opportunity for believers of various colors and denominational affiliations to gather in the unity of the Lord and pray that our God would turn back the wave of sin and violence and death that has been loosed upon us. The church of God through the power of the Holy Spirit can, should and must lead the way in prayer, repentance and deeds that befit a “broken and contrite spirit.”
So, please pray for this and plan to join fellow Christians on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM.
