Obituary:Jacqueline Jean Theoktisto

Jacqueline Jean Theoktisto, 85, of Cherry Lake, FL, passed away April 16, 2015 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. Jacqueline was born August 10, 1929 in Kalamazoo, MI, to Ross McCarty and Alyce Eitel Voorhees. Jackie was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Quitman, GA. She was a homemaker and also worked many years at Carmichael's clothing store in Quitman, GA. Jackie loved cooking for, and celebrating with, family and friends. The grandchildren and great grandchildren enjoyed spending time with her at her home on Cherry Lake where they could swim, ski, fish, boat and ride the jet ski. Jackie cherished the serenity of simply watching the water move and the sun reflecting off the ripples of Cherry Lake. She loved animals of all kinds, enjoyed caring for her flowers, and most of all, she cared passionately for others. Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Alyce Voorhees and father, Ross McCarty, and her stepfather, Gerald Voorhees who she lovingly called Poppy; husbands, William James Seaborn, II, Joseph "Joe" Platt, and Simon Theoktisto; and one brother, Arlon McCarty. Jackie is survived by her son, William James "Jimmy" Seaborn, III and Tina Smith of Cherry Lake, her daughter, Margaret Catherine Seaborn Lott and husband Hardy; three grandchildren, Christie Seaborn Hammond and John Hawkins of Pinetta, Stephanie Seaborn Henningsen and husband John of Tallahassee, William James "Jay" Seaborn, IV and wife Naomi of Lake Park, GA; 6 great-grandchildren, Garrett and Brandon Hammond of Madison, FL, Olivia, Noah and Grayson Henningsen of Tallahassee, FL, and Liam Seaborn of Lake Park, GA. A celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at the home of Hardy and Cathy Lott at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Cherry Lake. The address is 1887 NE Cherry Lake Circle, Madison, FL.
