NFCC Artist Series wraps up season with Country Royalty


OBIE Award winner Jason Petty and Grammy nominee Carolyn Martin pay tribute toHank Williams and Patsy Cline during performance at North Florida Community College

MADISON, FL – The North Florida Community College Artist Series wraps up its 2014-2015 season on Thursday, April 9 with Obie award winner Jason Petty and Grammy nominee Carolyn Martin paying tribute to two of country music’s biggest legends – Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. This outstanding country music tribute will be held at NFCC’s Van H. Priest Auditorium in Madison, Florida on Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m.

Jason Petty re-creates the role he has become famous for, while Carolyn Martin gives a jaw-dropping performances of Patsy Clines’ biggest hits. In a show like no other, Petty and Martin pay tribute to the two most influential singers in country music history. Over 20 of their chart-topping hits will be perfomed with a live band. These are the two legends that audiences all around the world want to see; Hank Williams and Patsy Cline, as performed by two of the best entertainers in the country.

Jason Petty made a striking impression on New York’s Theatre District, starring in ‘Hank Williams: Lost Highway,’ which played to sold out audiences at the Little Shubert Theater. Audiences and critics alike were taken back by Petty’s amazing acting ability in his portrayal of Hank Williams.

Petty won rave reviews from all the major critics, including the New York Times, Variety and Rolling Stone. The NY Post sated it best, “At times it seems as if Petty is not just offering an impersonation of Williams, but channeling his ghost.” Another sign of recognition for Petty’s brilliant performance of Hank Williams was being honored with an Obie Award for “Outstanding Actor”.

A 2011 inductee into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame, Carolyn Martin is a Texas born, Nashville based swing singer. A former member of renowned western swing band The Time Jumpers, Carolyn garnered two Grammy nominations with the group and was also featured as part of the Time Jumpers DVD “Jumping Time”, which has appeared on more than 140 Public Television stations and has won two Emmy awards.
