Madison Sheriff's Department Receives Negotiation/Command post unit
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that the Leon County Sheriff’s Office recently donated a 1997 F-350 Ford diesel ambulance that they had converted to utilize as a Hostage Negation/Command post unit. The unit is equipped with generator, desk station and refrigerator as well as fully wired for computers and other technical equipment often used during negotiations and/or command post crisis situations. Many times certain crisis span over long periods of time and historically Officers in the field have to convert the hoods of patrol units and back seats into office settings. This new asset will allow and further equip Officers in the field a controlled environment to perform their duties.
Sheriff Stewart appreciates the long standing great relationship with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and mutual aid agreements now under recently appointed Sheriff Mike Wood. Sheriff Stewart applauds the Leon County Sheriff’s Office for their continued support and considerations in providing such an asset to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
