"BOLO" Out of Jefferson County Leads to Two Arrest

Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Sunday the 28th day of February 2015 at approximately 2:40 AM the Madison County Sheriff’s Office received a “BOLO” from Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office concerning a shooting in their jurisdiction. The “BOLO” further described four suspects and a vehicle used to flee the scene and possibly traveling to the Greenville area. At approximately 3:05 AM this same date, Madison County Sheriff’s deputies located the vehicle fitting the description and immediately conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of 221 South and Overbrook in Greenville Florida.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Magell Arnold and deputies explained to him the purpose of him being detained. The passenger was identified as Quinton Lamar Thompkins and he too was advised of the purpose of him being detained. Jefferson County deputies arrived on scene and confirmed that Quinton Lamar Thompkins was in fact involved in the improper exhibition of a firearm where at least one subject was shot.

During the traffic stop and investigation, Sheriff’s deputies observed in plain view “baggies” of crack cocaine on the seat. A complete search and inventory of the vehicle being driven by Arnold revealed additional crack cocaine and marijuana.
