Garmany Arrested for Impersonating a Police Officer

Sheriff Stewart reports that on Monday the 29th day of December 2014, a warrant for the arrest of Ty Christopher Garmany was issued and executed on this same day.

The warrant was a result of the following incident: On Tuesday the 28th day of October 2014, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint concerning an individual traveling Westerly on US 90 when they were pulled over by a vehicle displaying red and blue lights. After the victim stopped, the suspect pulled in behind them but never exited the vehicle but in turn drove around the victim. The victim obtained a detailed description of the suspect vehicle to include a Florida License Plate number. An investigation was initiated by the Sheriff’s Office which later identified the suspect as Garmany. The Sheriff’s office further seized from Garmany numerous blue lights, radio and scanner from within Garmany’s vehicle. The case was presented to the Third Circuit State Attorneys and a warrant charging Garmany with Falsely Personating a Police Officer (3rd degree Felony) was obtained.
