Rollover on I-10
On December 26, 2014 about 7:00pm the call came in to dispatch of a car rolled over on I-10 about the 238 mile marker. Madison EMS, Madison Sheriff’s Department and Greenville Volunteer Fire Department responded along with the Florida Highway Patrol.
The single occupant was driving east bound on I-10 on her way to Orlando when she veered off the shoulder of the road and overcorrected sending her into the median where she began to flip through the median, coming within feet of a large pine tree. She continued to roll hitting the west bound side of I-10 which sent her rolling back into the median where her car finally came to rest on its top just feet away from the tree line. The car flipped a total of five times. The driver was able to exit her car on her own and escaped the horrific crash with only a minor scratch to her hand. She was wearing her seatbelt but the airbags did not deploy.
Madison EMS evaluated the driver at the scene but with only a minor scratch transport was not necessary.
