Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution Successfully Prosecutes Man for Record
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Attorney General Pam Bondi’s Office of Statewide Prosecution successfully prosecuted Scott Campbell, 49, of Kissimmee. He has been convicted of first degree grand theft after a week-long trial in Osceola County. Campbell claimed to be starting a record company that would find and develop musical talent. His primary method of finding investors, all of whom were women from across Florida, was to search dating and social websites under the guise of potentially dating his victims. He collected more than $1 million during a ten-year period. He spent the money for his personal use, most egregiously at casinos in Las Vegas, Biloxi, Atlantic City, and Tampa. Campbell faces up to 30 years in prison and will be sentenced on Feb. 13, 2015.
