On Saturday, November 22, 2014 New Home Baptist Church sponsored their 8th Annual Old Fashion Days for Madison County. Using the land of Jack Pickels and Jack's "Sugar Shack" on Moseley Hall Road people gathered to remember how life was decades ago. From cane grinding and making syrup to churning ice cream and butter to cooking a hog. From quilting to old cars and trucks to washing clothes in a tub with a washboard. Activities for children ranged from a "train" ride to learning how to use a slingshot. All who attended enjoyed the live banjo music, the variety of food available and the fellowship.

As a light cold rain began there was a memorial service

honoring the New Home pastor, Benjie Dyal, who died unexpectedly at the age of 50 this past Monday. The church members and community will carry on and never forget the ten years of service that Pastor Dyal and his family gave to them. Old Fashion Days is open to the public free of charge each year. Thanks to all who worked many hours to have this event available to the citizens of Madison County.
