MADISON COUNTY VETERANS HONORED
On Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM Madison County honored their veterans of all wars. The event took place at the Madison County Community Bank lobby with a standing room only crowd. Patriotic and spiritual music accompanied the singing of the National Anthem and the Pledge to the flag by those gathered. Time was given for all those who have served in the armed forces to stand and state their service connections. Also, family members took time to recognize and remember those who gave their all or who are overseas serving at this time.
Commander Townsend gave the key note speech.
One 93 year old World War II service man attended and held a photograph of himself of years ago. He also wore a Purple Heart hat. This ceremony of honor is a seven year tradition that was attended by local dignitaries and citizens who want all veterans to know they are not forgotten.
