Drug Arrest on I-10
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Sunday the second day of November at 9:15 pm a deputy of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle driven by Timothy Neyer traveling East on Interstate 10 for unlawful speed and expired registration. While speaking with Neyer at the passenger side window, the deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Neyer was instructed to exit his vehicle while the deputy took enforcement actions for the two traffic violations. Neyer was asked if he possessed any illegal narcotics, weapons or contraband. Neyer stated that he did not. The deputy conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located a partially smoked marijuana cigarette in the ash tray and a small plastic baggie containing cocaine in the center console. During a continued search of the vehicle the deputy located items used to ingest cocaine as well as a kit designed to defeat drug tests that contained synthetic urine. Neyer was arrested without incident and transported to the Madison County Jail.
