Obituary: Bessie L. Green

Bessie L. Green died on Thursday, August 21, 2014 in Crawfordville, Florida. She was born in Madison, Florida to the late Wash Johnson and Jerusha Hendry. She lived most of her life in Perry as a homemaker and was a member of the Boyd Methodist Church. She was involved in many civic organizations serving as a two time past President of the Lady Elks as well as serving as a Lady Moose and Lady Shriner.

Mrs. Green is survived by one daughter: Becky Black of Crawfordville; one brother Herald Johnson of Monticello and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two husbands: James L Green and Royce Crouch; three brothers: Jimmy, Shirley and Johnny Bill Johnson and five sisters: Iris Shiver, Marvine Wambolt, Wilma Ruth Copeland, Darnella Tuten and Alvilda Carlton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Beggs Perry Chapel with Brother Billy Gipson officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Boyd Methodist Church Cemetery. Beggs Funeral Home in Perry, Florida is in charge of all arrangements.
