National Weather Service
We are expecting a heat wave to build across the area tomorrow, and peak on Friday and Saturday. Heat index values in many areas should exceed 105° due to a combination of near-record high temperatures and relatively high humidity. Heat stress will be exacerbated by the four-day duration, warm overnight lows in the mid-upper 70s, relatively sunny skies with less daily thunderstorm activity, and light winds.
A Heat Advisory may be issued for a portion of this time frame either later this evening or tomorrow.
Given the amount of outdoor activity that will be taking place across the area with the start of fall semesters, be sure to give extra consideration to the hot weather, and emphasize heat safety.
