Grow House Shut Down
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Thursday the 14th day of August 2014 investigators of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force executed a narcotic search warrant at 1586 SE Hammerly Street in Lee Florida. The Sheriff’s Office DTF investigation revealed a large building that was being utilized for an indoor marijuana grow operation as well as an electrical power diversion theft. The building contained “make-shift” living quarters and two separate grow rooms. Investigators discovered that the electricity needed to operate the grow house was being stolen by diverting the power before it reached the meter.
Investigators recovered 101 mature marijuana plants and dismantled the grow rooms including all the grow equipment used to ensure the operation could not be resumed at a later date. A suspect from South Florida has been identified and the investigation continues.
