Pippin Arrested: Possession of Methamphetamine
Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Thursday the 17th day of July 2014 at 10:22 PM Madison County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force Investigators observed a truck that had driven around the “Road Closed” barricades on County Camp Road West of the Roller Coaster Hill Road intersection. The truck had backed up to the water crossing the road and was parked with the interior light on. A male subject was observed sitting in the driver seat of the truck. As investigators approached the truck the driver was observed bending down toward the floorboard and then turned off the interior light causing the truck to “blackout”, making it impossible for the officers to observe the interior.
Investigators quickly made contact with the male subject and identified him as John Walter Pippin III. While talking with Pippin investigators observed a rifle with a scope attached on the seat of the truck and ordered Pippin to exit the truck. Investigators searched Pippin for weapons and discovered a glass smoking pipe commonly used to smoke Methamphetamine concealed inside a boot that Pippin was wearing. Pippin removed a cigarette pack from his shirt pocket. A small plastic bag containing Methamphetamine was found concealed inside the cigarette pack. The glass pipe tested positive for the presence of Methamphetamine.
Pippin was arrested without incident and transported to the Madison County Jail. The rifle was confirmed to be an air rifle.
