EARLY AFTERNOON FIRE DESTROYS HOME IN MADISON COUNTY
At 2:42 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 Madison County Supervisor of Elections Tommy Hardee went by his home to retrieve work materials and discovered smoke coming from his home. Being a volunteer fire fighter he called in the blaze to Madison 911 Center on his fire radio. Madison Fire/Rescue, Lee Fire/Rescue and the Division of Forestry responded with fire apparatus and personnel. The State Fire Marshall has been called in to confirm the cause of the fire. The home appears to be a total loss. Madison County Emergency Medical Services and the Madison County Sheriff's Office had units on scene but there were no reported injuries. Family and friends gathered to assist Mr. Hardee and his family with initial clean-up.
