GREENVILLE WOMAN RECEIVES NATIONS "THANK YOU"
On Saturday, May 31, 2014 Clara Gilliam of Greenville, Florida received a "thank you" for her husband's service in the U.S. Army. William C. Gilliam, Jr died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the age of 89. He was a decorated veteran of World War II having received two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star with "V" for valor. After funeral services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Madison there was a graveside ceremony at Evergreen cemetery in Greenville where an honor guard from Ft. Stewart, Georgia played taps, properly folded the American flag that had covered the coffin and presented the flag to Mrs. Gilliam with a sincere "thank you" from the President and citizens of the United States of America.
