LOG TRUCK CRASH ON HWY 53 SOUTH IN MADISON COUNTY
At approximately 1:15 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2014 Madison County 911 Center received a report of a log truck that had over turned on Hwy 53 South between Madison and I-10. Responding fire units from Madison Fire/Rescue found the highway completely blocked with a full load of logs across the southbound and northbound lanes of traffic. Madison County EMS checked the driver and he was not transported but remained at the scene. Madison County Sheriff's deputies handled traffic to assure no additional mishaps occurred. Madison County Emergency Management Director Tom Cisco came to the site because of fuel leakage. Florida Highway Patrol responded to do the crash report. The cause of the crash is under investigation at the time of this writing.
