City Commissioner Thompson schedules community meeting for April 24

District 2 City Commissioner Ina Thompson will host a community meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 24, at Madison City Hall. City Hall is located at 321 SW Rutledge St.

District 2 is comprised of approximately Crane Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr., Drive in the west to Horry Avenue in the east, and from Anhinga Lane in the north to Macon Street in the south. This section of the city will be the main area of interest at the community meeting.

However, residents and business owners from the city’s other four voting districts are welcomed to attend. Their comments and concerns will be provided to their respective city commissioners.

The purpose of the community meeting is for citizens and business owners to air issues and concerns about city services and other city-related topics.

Attending the meeting will be City Manager Tim Bennett, Police Chief Gary Calhoun, and Fire Chief Bruce Jordan.
