In the Southeastern area of the United States, the Professional Cowboy Association (PCA)is the premier and predominant producer of action-packed, exciting, thrilling rodeos. Drawingmore than 5000 people to a Friday or Saturday night rodeo, each PCA-sanctioned rodeo is a major event.
PCA Rodeo arrives in Madison April 18-19 with over 150 cowboys/cowgirls ready to compete. Gates open at 6 p.m.Entertainment begins from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. The Rodeo begins with gusto at 8 p.m.!
Created more than 17 years ago, the Professional Cowboy Association has grown each year, and nowsanctions more than 100 rodeos in their 10-month season. In eight states throughout the Southeast. PCA calls more than 1000 cowboys and cowgirls its members.
The Professional Cowboy Association provides rodeo’s premier showcase each year with its Professional CowboyFinals Rodeo (PCFR) competition in January. Offering an alluring stage along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, cowboys andcowgirls display their talents and earn their share of the $ 140,000 + purse offered by the PCA.
These cowboys and cowgirls work all year to qualify for a place in the Professional Cowboy Finals Rodeo in oneor several of eight events: bareback riding, saddle bronco riding, steer wrestling, team roping, calf roping, breakawayroping, barrel racing and bull riding.
Competing in PCA-sanctioned rodeos throughout the year, the PCFR finalists are determined by their year-endstandings or cash winnings in their chosen events. The top 15 contestants from each event are then invited toparticipate in the Finals Rodeo, vying for their place in the PCA’s prestigious Arena of Champions for the upcoming year! All qualifying contestants are presented with an official Professional Cowboy Finals Rodeo jacket for their accomplishments,determination and hard work and limited-edition PCFR handcrafted silver belt buckles and commemorative, personalized saddles.
